Do you only experience egg white CM the day of ovulation or the day after you have ovulated?

During my fertile week I only experienced creamy CM, but I had approaching ovulation symptoms. However by the end of the week when my symptoms were no longer there I had egg white CM so I was wondering if anyone else experienced this.
