Parents: five nights at Freddie's?

My step son has been talking about this game non stop for weeks. His dad, mom, and I are not sure what we think of it. Do any of you parents or anyone in general know anything about it? He's 8. Thanks!

It's a jump scare game where you play as a security guard hired to watch the security cameras in a Chucky Cheese type joint. There are animatronics (giant robot... Things?) that move at night and try to get to the security guard's room to, uh, kinda kill him? It's not graphic or bloody in any way, and there's no cursing or anything. Considering he's 8, I don't think he fully understands the story line. If you're curious how the game works, go on YouTube and type "5 night's at Freddy's gameplay," so you can see what the game is like. It can definitely be a little scary, since the animatronics look a little creepy sometimes and the jump scares make loud noises when they get you, but check out those YouTube videos and judge for yourself if he should be allowed to continue playing. 😊👍🏼

It's an indie horror game, most likely not appropriate for children under 13. It scares me as a 21 y/o adult lol

I'm not sure if this helps but it's the app description. Some of my friends get a little freaked out and jump some times when they playing (they are 13/14) but I've never played it personally.
