Bad luck?

Question

Since all of our close family already knows we were thinking about announcing our pregnancy on Facebook. I am currently 6 weeks and 1 day. Do you guys think it's bad luck or a dumb idea to put it on Facebook this early? We are just so excited and it's our first baby. I'm just nervous something bad will happen.

It's ultimately your decision :) my husband and I are waiting until we are out of the "worry-zone", about 23 weeks.

Telling people in person is one thing, but announcing on social media might be too much if something goes wrong.  I only tell people that I would be comfortable talking about a loss with.

It's up to you! I've always chosen to share with family and close friends before 12 weeks, then share with the masses later. We've always been more comfortable with that, personally.

I don't think there's a right or wrong approach! I personally am not going to announce on social media til later (likely around first trimester) even though I have told quite a few people in person (I'm 8w2d today, but started telling people weeks ago). I chose to do it like that because I wanted to keep it to people who would support me in the event of a loss. My close friends & family absolutely would, but I likely wouldn't get useful support from acquaintance types on social media, & having to announce a loss would just stress me out.

I personally wouldn't. I lost my first pregnancy at 9+3 so things really can go wrong later than you'd think, and personally I would have been so miserable having to make that grieving process public. When I announce I don't want people remembering the loss, that way we're all 100% excited for this baby.

I would at least wait until you've had an ultrasound with a confirmed heartbeat in a good range.

It's definitely your choice. Not everyone is the same. I am more of a private person so I don't want to tell everyone until after the first trimester when I feel like things are a little safer.

I'm waiting til 29 weeks because of my losses I had two miscarriages and lost one son at 28 weeks and one at 18 weeks but it's ultimately up to you. Do what you feel is right for you. Everyone is different and has different situations.
