I need advice bad!!! Please help!

So I met this guy and he's really cool. He tells me that I'm gorgeous all the time and that he wants to be with me and so on and so forth. Only problem is everyone is telling me to stay away from him. 😔 I hear all kinds of bad things like he's a hoe and he talks to everyone and when I asked him about he told me that he used to be like that and that's not who he is anymore. But I don't know what to believe😭 I really need you guys' help.
