My boyfriends crazy dad. 🙄

We sort of have distance between us, but not much. So today, which keep in mind we planned this for 2 weeks. After I finished my test for my class, I drove the 2 and a half hours down there to see him. He was still studying when I got there so I just played on my phone until he got done. Then we talked for a while. Then his dad calls. Asks what he's doing and such. He tells his dad he just got done with the chapters. That we were about to go get food. 

So about 10 minutes after that we were getting in the car to get food. Then his dad pulls up. Makes him come over to him. 

Begins yelling at him telling him he's being irresponsible, that he's acting crazy because he just got his new car (hadn't even had it for 24 hours) telling him that because he's young he doesn't know how to handle a car and all this bullshit. Then telling him he needs to get back to studying. 

When my boyfriend studies every single day several chapters and practice problems every day. He had just finished his set goal for the day. All my boyfriend does is study, work, workout, and every now and then basketball with his friends. 

But my boyfriend is apparently being a disappointment? 

Do you think his dad is being resonable or is he being psychotic?

I mean I feel he should just be happy he has such a phenomenal son like he does.
