Birth control help

I'm 15 years old and have been in a relationship for over a year. We don't want to have sex at the moment but I want to make sure I've been on the pill for at least a few months before we do. Also my period pain is awful. I'm trying to talk to my mom about getting on birt control but I don't really know how to talk to her about it.
