Nuva Ring?

Question

Any ladies have good experiences with the nuva ring? I'm currently on the pill but it's causing blood clots and I'm scared to use any birth control that's inserted. I've heard a lot of women have gained weight from the shot and I'm running out of options!

I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews on here for Nuvaring! It's my birth control of choice and many of my friends as well, it's super easy and convenient and I haven't had any issues at all! Just make sure it's inserted well, you shouldn't feel it when it's in! Super easy! In for three weeks out for one is probably one of the most low maintenance birth control options without using an IUD!

I've been on it for a little over a week now and I think it's causing cystic acne on my jawline. It's getting pretty bad, I'm not sure it's because of the nuvaring though, it might be just post pregnancy hormones (9 weeks pp)

try something without estrogen to help with the clotting problem.

I unknowingly got pregnant on the nuva ring.. didn't even know until I was miscarrying! I'd say it's not my birth control of choice, but probably not the worst one. I'm also leery of IUDs, but they seem to have come a long way. After talking to a few people I know who have them, I decided to go with the Paragard.

I loved the nuvaring but I also had an abnormal pap smear while on it. I had precancerous cells on my cervix where the ring sat and after a year of procedures and biopsies and check ups I was finally cleared. But, I just couldn't go back on it. Something didn't sit right.

Nuva ring caused a bad reaction for me 😑
My current dr recommended Mirena because it's a different make up. She also insisted it wouldn't be a big deal to remove if I had a reaction to it.

Maybe ask for something that's dramatically different? Some of my friends liked nuva ring. The thing itself wasn't bad, but I can't have the types of hormones in it. You could give it a try!

The Paraguard copper IUD could be an option if you want to avoid hormones altogether.
