Gaining weight on Nexplanon?

Okay so I'm getting Nexplanon in a couple of days and, though my doctor said that I wouldn't gain weight, I've heard so many horror stories of girls gaining up to 40 pounds. is this something I should be worried about?

It has different effects for different folks! I'm on it and haven't had increased appetite or weight gain. Same thing with the Depo shot, nothing bad ever happened to me.

I had to get mine out after 4 months because I was gaining 10 pounds a month (along with other horrible side effects). My diet didn't change and I actually was exercising more once I noticed the first few pounds. I'm still trying to lose it and none of my clothes really fit now. Be warned that it can happen, although I've had friends that had zero problems with it. It's a gamble for sure

It increases your appetite. Progestin is used in the Nexplanon and Implanon. Progestin is a hormone that doctors usually give to the ill patients, so they can have an appetite and eat. If you make healthy eating choices, then you should be fine.

I just got it a month ago and I've had it in the past. I was worried about gaining weight at first but once I had it, it never made me gain weight. But everyone's body is different so just keep an eye out and talk to your doctor if you do see drastic changes!

you just get a hungry feeling more often. I've had it for almost 3 weeks and I have noticed that. you won't gain weight if you keep your same eating habits, don't fall into to the fake hungry feeling lol

I been on this birth control for 3 years now, I've only gain two pounds!

I just recently got on that birth control and what's really scary is that I keeps stingy my arm near we're they inserted at. But it's like when I stress instantly I get a headache and it hurts , I actually have one right now . And then I have mood swings , one minute I'm happy , next thing you know I'm so angry and pissed by the littlest things idk why.
