C-section?

Question

Has anyone ever had a c-section? What was it like and the healing process? Would you do it again? 
Is anyone getting one this time around??

I had a c section with my 1st . I was scared out of my mind, the healing process sucked, and it was even harder taking care of a newborn, especially with an unsupportive partner. This time around I'm aiming for a vbac because instead of having your baby taken for over an hour while you recover, you get the chance to automatically connect with baby. So many down falls to csections. If you can, avoid it.

Never had one since I'm pregnant with my first but curious if anyone knows if rumor is true appendectomy (appendix) is worse than c section.

I had an emergency c section with my daughter. It's true you are sent to recovery and don't get time with your baby immediately.. But it gave my husband time to bond with her, where we weren't fighting over her lol. It was painful.. But I have never had a vaginal delivery to compare it too.. I generally have a high pain tolerance.. But any pain in my lady parts and I am a wreck. So for me I think the csection was less painful then a vaginal birth would be. I am currently expecting twins and will be having another c section.

I really wanted natural but had to have a c section because my baby was in breach and bum had engaged... It wasn't as bad as I expected, I didn't need heavy meds for long and I went home on day two. I had a very healthy pregnancy and was active throughout and the doctor said that is why i healed so quickly... One of my friends who had a c section found it a little harder but it may have been because it was an emergency. Good luck 💕

I ended up with an emergency c-section because I ended up with a temp of 107, and baby's heart rate was rising. It was more scary than anything (never had surgery before so don't really have anything to compare it to). The recovery is kind of a bummer, but I wasn't completely bed-ridden (more like "do I REALLY need to get up to pee RIGHT now, or can it wait?") Under the same circumstances I would do it again, but I'm gonna try for a VBAC this time.

I had an emergency c section, once baby had been seen to had her on me straight away. In the uk you are taken to recovery with your baby on you. Then they only take them off of you to be weighed and given straight back. I had no feeling to my lower half for 3 days so couldn't really move much, had lo asleep I between my legs the whole time as I didn't have to keep asking for someone to pass her to me that way.
Once I was up and walking recovery didn't take to long and was out of hospital a few days later. My friend was out after two days.
Will be opting for a c section this time round too, will be so much calmer than before x

I'm having my 3rd c-section in February, recovery for me the second time was SO much easier! And I think this one will be easier than the one before! The trick is to get up and move as soon as you can, you will recover much more quickly that way!!

I had a c-section with my first child also. My experience wasn't that bad. It was N emergency c-section so I was a nervous wreck to say the least, but I was given my daughter right away (while they were sewing me up) my Dr. did not tie me down at all and then when they transported me to the next room my SO carried the baby to our room. The recovery was somewhat painful. We lived in a two story house at the time so going up and down stairs was almost unbearable at first but I survived. I thought about doing a vbac this time around, however it kind of freaks me out to think about my insides ripping open so I'll do a scheduled c-section. I'm not to worried about to to be honest.

I had a scheduled c section for my first due to her having a very large ovarian cyst. Due to this and the size of her head, our maternal fetal medicine specialist suggested section to keep from putting her in distress. Overall the process was pretty easy and not bad at all. They of course took her to nicu after letting me see her for a couple minutes. But by that night, I was up and walking bc I needed to go visit her. The next day, I got my cath out and began walking wherever I wanted to. Wheelchair close by of course. I only took the oral pain medication for a couple doses. Mostly Tylenol and ibuprofen. The weirdest part for me was not being able to move on that table. My legs felt like they needed to be adjusted so my nurse was a sweetheart and helped me out. They made sure I was very well taken care of. When I went home, I think I took 1 pain pill total. So if you're positive about the situation and get up and get moving, you're outcome will be a lot better. I'm gonna have section 2 in February and I'm sure I'll be nervous when it gets to be time but I don't think it'll be as bad.

I was induced and never dilated so I was being taken back for my c section. As they were getting me ready he baby's and my heart rate started dropping so it turned into an emergency c section. I was scared but now I'm pregnant with my second and ready for this c section. It wasn't bad for me. I didn't take any pain meds and my child's father was/is shitty so I did everything with no help. Made me less sore.
