What is your thoughts/opinions on elective c-sections?

I think that it's a completely unnecessary surgery that people are overusing. A lot can go wrong and in fact mortality/complications  rates for mothers have gone up in th US because of the increase in elective c-sections. Not only does it take longer to heal from, but they are much more expensive.

I think it's major surgery and dangerous. They should only be performed when necessary just like any other surgery. There's a reason babies are born the way they are it's better for them and the mom

I think it's unnecessary and dangerous. The only reason I would ever opt for a C-Section would be if baby is breech, cord is tangled, or severe complications with baby/mommy. If the pregnancy and baby are completely normal, I don't see why anyone should be allowed to choose to have an unnecessary surgery. That's just my opinion, but I know several women who would choose a Cesarean over a vaginal birth any day. Actually, I have a friend who is from California and she was actually really surprised that my state doesn't allow mothers to just choose for convenience. I'm not sure if it's the entire state of CA, or just the doctor/hospital that delivered her babies, but she was allowed to choose for her convenience every time.

It's both dangerous and unnecessary... the maternal death rate is still growing in our country, with a primary reason being that one third of births are now C-sections, and major surgery means you are risking things like post op infection and more. The risk of maternal death is triple for those getting a C-section compared to those delivering vaginally. Along with that, risks to the baby are higher as well.  Why have the baby literally cut out of you if you don't have to?

My baby is breech so far and I have the option of doing a version or cesarean. I'm thinking of opting for the cesarean because I would like to avoid the stress and risk on my baby. Does that count as "elective"?

Recovery for a C-Section is a lot longer than a vaginal birth. At least so I've heard. But it's your body. If you want one get one. I know I was thinkin about it for a long time, but I think I'm gonna go natural unless I or the baby are I'm danger, then I'll opt for c section
