Why is it so hard to make girl friends?

So I just moved to San Antonio two weeks ago. I moved here from Maryland and I had absolutely NO friends, just my boyfriend lol. Why is it so hard to just find some cool girls to hang out with and drink sangria while we pig out on food? Hopefully I'll make friends when I start class, pray for me lol.

For real! The girls that I became really close with, in college, transferred to a four year university. That's always the worst with meeting friends in college.
