please help! what birth control do you use and what are some side effects?

I'm 19 and have been dating my boyfriend for almost 2 years, I want to start birth control to limit my chances of pregnancy (I would still use a condom along with birth control) but I would prefer something that doesn't make me gain weight and also doesn't effect my chances of infertility when I am off of the birth control. any suggestions???

I'm not sure why so many people are voting for the pill. Look in the birth control section of this app and you'll see the differences in each. I would NOT recommend the IUD, I've heard way too many horror stories. But the implant (Implanon/Nexplanon) works wonders, very effective, you don't have to remember to take it, and it lasts 3 years. It doesn't affect your ability to get pregnant afterwards either.

If you have never been on birth control I would suggest trying the pill to see how that works for you. The reason why I say that is because you can easily just stop taking them if you have any negative effects, rather then jumping into a long term form like nexplanon.
