No heartbeat?

Question

Has anyone not heard a heartbeat with the Doppler but everything was ok with ultrasound? I had an appt today and they looked for like 10 mins for a heartbeat with the Doppler but couldn't find it. I don't go back until Friday for an ultrasound. I am 11 weeks 4 days.

Hi, I actually posted a story today about this! I had my 12 week appointment today with no heart beat on the Doppler. My OB took me to the other room for an ultrasound, and everything was perfect! My little on is growing lots, and moving everywhere! So it can happen, try not to worry until there's a reason to worry 😊

At my appointment last week I was 10 weeks and they couldn't find it. My dr pulled in an ultrasound machine and everything was perfect! She just said my placenta was forming in the front, which made it almost impossible to hear.

I just went for my 12 week appointment two days ago and she even warned me ahead, don't be surprised if we can't find the heartbeat with the Doppler. Well we couldn't so she grabbed the ultrasound card instead and here my baby was totally fine. In fact it was busy doing flips. We couldn't get over how much it was moving. My midwife told me that was why we couldn't hear the heartbeat. It was impossible to track the tiny heart with so much movement but everything was totally fine. I'm sure yours is too!

Last week I had the scare of my life when my OB couldn't find the heartbeat on the Doppler. This is my third pregnancy, and my OB is a pro at finding a heartbeat in any position... She searched for 10+ mins before she gave up and ordered an ultrasound immediately. I had to wait 45 mins, of course having a panic attack the entire time, before they could take me back. They put the wand on my belly and there was baby, heart flickering away, perfectly fine! It looked like the placenta is in the front this time, which is probably why she couldn't find it with the Doppler. I'm not sure how it works now tho, if she'll try the Doppler every time and not be able to hear anything or if she'll order Ultrasounds at every visit... But all that matters to me is that this stubborn little baby is still fine in there.

I had my first appt today, I'm 10 weeks 4 days. The heart beat was found today with the Doppler, so no ultrasound will be ordered until 20 weeks. This is also my second pregnancy. At 11 weeks, the heart beat should be able to to be picked up by Doppler. Sending you good vibes from Iowa.

My second appointment was at 11w5d, and they couldn't get the heartbeat on Doppler, so they took me to have a second ultrasound, and found it in an instant! Because my husband couldn't make the first appointment but was with me this time, my midwife gave us the option for another transvaginal ultrasound to see the baby - at not charge! It made us both so very happy, and the pictures were WAY better than they were at 7 weeks! I'm sure your baby is fine, plus you get the chance to see him/her again!

My Dr. Had to push my uterus to my tummy for us to hear it.

This is my 4th, I've never been able to hear a heartbeat via Doppler before 13 weeks or so. Totally depends on the baby, position of placenta, etc.
