My first physical exam????????????

I am 14 and my mom told me that my doctor wanted me to have a pysical exam because "I'm getting to that age" and I'm scared, HELP!!!?!!!!

Oh you'll be okay. It won't be too personal or up in your space. Just relax. They'll take your hight, weight and blood pressure and then check reflexes, heart and lungs and talk to you about any concerns you may have, and what's going on with your body at this age. Suggest you get the HPV vaccination, and that's probably it. You don't get like pelvic exams until you're older. So don't worry about that. 👍🏼 you're gonna be fine. It's normal to be nervous, then usually afterward you're like, "oh that wasn't so bad!" And honestly when you get to the age of seeing the gynecologist (lady doctor..for your lady parts) it's not that bad either! Promise. Be brave sweetie. You'll be fine.

It's no big deal. I've had them done and it can be awkward but it's worth it. Better safe than sorry. Just make sure you get a female doctor.

If you haven't had sex yet then it should just consist of a breast exam which is awkward, but it isn't that bad. They cannot probe your lady bits without your consent. Explain to your doctor your comfort level and what has been going on with your body.

Dont be scared its not bad. Might be a bit awkward if the doctor is a guy but they give you the option if you want a female nurse to do it. Its quick, youll be fine c:.
