Skyla Question

So I've had my Skyla IUD since December after a long battle with changing pills and weight gain and crazy mood swings.. Anyway I'm loving it and it's working really well for me and my boyfriend! However, around the start of my period/end of my cycle, I get these shooting pains in my vagina. Like splitting pain, feels like someone stuck a cattle prod up there and is electrocuting me. Anyone else have this issue and/or know what causes this?
