Anyone else have parents/grandparents that are just hurtful in the subtlest ways? Like they make rude comments in a polite way!? My grandmother is so mean it makes me dread seeing her or taking my daughter around. She comments on weight gain, and lifestyle. I'm a stay at home mom for the next few weeks until I start college classes for nursing. She herself is a nurse, and she thinks I'm totally incapable of doing it. And she tells me I don't get out enough. Here's a direct quote: "if I had a stroller this nice, I'd take it out every day, not just sit on the couch." I live in a desert. The only time it's nice outside in the summer is at night! And I certainly don't sit on the couch all day. Sorry, I'm just kind of ranting here! I did stand up to her, In a respectful way, explain why I want to be a nurse, why I don't go out in the heat, and what I do with my day, but I shouldn't have to. I just wish that she and the rest of my family would be proud of my accomplishments and goals rather than tell me to get out and probably stick with my original career which is doing hair. But I'm ready to move on to something new! Sorry had to get this off my chest somewhere.
