New ring or old one?

We were engaged, he broke things off but now we are working on things. If we ended up getting married do I keep the ring or get a new one? I feel like the old one represents the old relationship, if that makes sense

I would personally keep the old one. Or maybe use the old stone to make a new one. Because to me, the old one represents how we made it through a rough patch and made it to the other side. I think maybe just getting the stones in a new set would be cool too, because then you're merging the old with the new. Idk, just a thought. I get sentimental about things like that. I lost my first ring down the tub drain while I was cleaning and even though I have a nicer, more expensive ring now, it doesn't replace the sentimental value of my old one.
