Make sure you are nursing long enough to empty your breast. The hindmilk is the fatty filling part. My chunky monkey is EBF.

My son has a great latch and suck but for whatever reason he wasn't emptying the breast so I ended up having to pump after feeding him and then give him a bottle. It's a pain but us mamas do what we have to. Keep an eye on his weight and if you have to supplement, don't kick yourself. Sometimes it just happens.

Babies have to eat at least every 4 hours to gain weight. So if your baby doesn't wake at least every 4 hours to eat you should wake your baby

Add a ton of high fat healthy foods to your diet. Avocado, butter, coconut oil, whole fat yogurt, cheese, etc.

When my son hadn't gained much weight after six weeks, my pedi warned me it would affect brain development. I supplemented until he could get to a healthy weight and went back to ebf for the next ten months. I just made sure to pump a lot to keep my supply up.
