Was it a period or sign of early pregnancy?

My husband and I have been TTC since August, Sept and Oct I got my period on the 29th of both months full out. I get pregnancy symptoms when my period is coming such as being over tired and sore breasts. In November on the 22nd I started spotting a brown thick muscus discharge it was medium light it continued to the 23rd and then it turned dark red and turned into what looked like a period. Was heavy for two days then stopped and then I spotted the brown discharge again. I havent felt right since then. Ive been somewhat constipated, have had a sore throat on and off, have random headaches, sore breasts, am over tired and have nausea on and off through out the day. I had the flu this past Wednesday but still do not feel better. Still have the sore throat and nausea on and off still extremely tired. I have taken several HPTs and all are negative. I don't know what to think does anyone have any insight? ?
