Registry with no shower tacky?

We are having our second baby nov 3. This time it's a boy, our first was a girl, so it's basically like starting over again. We aren't having a shower but I am registering at a couple places, mainly for organization and discount reasons. That being said, I have had a couple people ask if I'm having a shower and I'm concerned that I may have friends or family ticked bc they think they weren't invited to a shower. In trying to avoid that, is it super tacky to put out a general post to my family and friends that we've opted not to have a shower but that since we've been asked by several friends and family about registries, here is where we are registered? I don't want to seem like we are asking for gifts, bc we are planning to buy everything we need in September. However, I truly don't want people thinking they were snubbed from a shower.
