Wedding Registry?

My fiancé's and my roommate were talking his morning, and he happened to bring up our registry. He's seen what's on it, and casually asked how it was going. I told him I added a Crock Pot a few weeks ago, but am at a loss as to what else to add. He shrugged, smiled and said, "Well, I hope whatever is on there makes you happy. I just can't wait to use the kitchen gadgets." I gave him a look and told him, "The wedding gifts aren't being opened and used right after the wedding. They're being put away for our use when we move out after." The man looked heartbroken and upset. I explained that our married life is what those gifts are for, that we are not living together forever, that my fiancé and I are moving as soon as we have the money to after the wedding (which is next fall, by the way)... And that most of what was asked for he already owns and we all use.
