Blood test?

Why does everyone get blood tests to check levels? I called doctor. They said to come in a couple of weeks. They seem to have no rush.

They don't just check HCG, but also progesterone and blood levels. My platelets and progesterone were both low with my first. Had to take progesterone pills.

If you conceive under the care of an RE then you test hcg levels every couple days for a week or two.

I work in an OB office, and we don't do routine HCG levels. However, I think a lot of ladies have done through fertility treatments so that would be the reasoning behind closely monitored beta HCG.

I think it depends what country you're in! I'm in uk and we don't have blood tests just need to book straight in with midwife and they organise first scan. I rang my Gp last week and have my first midwife appointment on Wednesday xx

all of my friends had their pregnancies confirmed with a blood test. my doctor just had me pee again and sent me on my way...

I had mine done, because I needed to confirm my pregnancy before my specialist would adjust my thyroid medication.

I didn't with my first. I think most women do not have their levels checked. Only if you had a hard time conceiving or have a history of miscarriage.
