Can a bad sunburn cause swelling?

So we went to the beach on Saturday and forgot sunscreen. Me and my bump were in the shade, but my lower legs weren't. I wasn't roasting in the sun for hours or anything... Needless to say it doesn't take long for fair skin without sunscreen to get burnt in the Southern California sun! Anyways, it's two days later and I am still in physical pain when walking, and I think this is partially because my ankles and feet have been seriously swollen! I know swelling can be a symptom of preeclampsia, but I didn't have any swelling whatsoever before I got burnt. Is it possible the burn is causing my swelling? Or just a timing coincidence? Thanks!!
