I've been struggling this week (baby is 5 days old). My breasts honestly feel like I'm rubbing sandpaper on them. I had an appointment with a lactation consultant which helped a little, but it's different when someone is helping you and then at home when you're sleep deprived and don't think baby is latching properly. Can someone provide any insight on what I can do. Baby won't take the breast after I put lanolin on it. I'm at a loss. Everyone says it gets easier, but I don't see how. He also doesn't sleep at night which makes it extremely hard on me because he constantly wants to eat when he's not sleeping.
