Changing midwives??

So lately I've just felt my midwives office is a little subpar. Lots of little things that just add up. I'm 28 weeks now. Has anyone switched doctors and midwives in their 3rd trimester? What was your experience?

I did with my first pregnancy. I was looking around for someone to do a home birth but going to an OBGYN for prenatal care in the meantime. I knew I would never deliver with him unless I developed a serious complication. Couldn't find anyone to do my home birth as a first time mom, but found a birth center. I got my records from my OB and they took me no problem. The only thing they were weird about though is that they made me redo my glucose test even though I had passed it at my OB. I think if you're not happy, you should change, and the sooner the better.

I switched offices at 26 weeks and I could not be happier with the decision. My last office seemed to only care about collecting my copay and getting me out the door as quickly as possible. My new office has a longer wait time, but I get one on one time with my midwife and Doctor with each visit and they've done a more thorough job of testings and medical screenings because of my past medical problems. I now finally feel comfortable to deliver this baby.

I changed OB's during the end of my second trimester and it was quite a hassle but well worth it. I switched to an all natural OB who works with midwives and she is amazing. The other one was not on the same page with me so I listened to my hunch and I'm so glad I did.

I have to change sometime this week or next because my husband and I bought a house that's really far away from my midwife and the delivering hospital. I'm heartbroken because I loved my midwife! I'm going on 28 weeks. Luckily the new house is only about 15 miles from a new, smaller hospital so I'm glad I won't have to travel so far once I go into labor!

I didn't change in my third trimester, but I did in my second. My midwife retired so I had to find someone new and ended up changing from a big hospital to a smaller hospital closer to home. It was pretty easy. Just have your old doc send all your records to your new doc!
