My baby is breech; can I still go into labor?

I'm at 36 weeks and my baby is still breech. There is still some time for him to turn, but I'm mentally starting to prepare for a c-section.

I read there are important reasons to try to go into labor naturally even if breech, and then have a c-section, which has to do with bacterial exchange between mom/baby and immune system boost.

Any experience with this? If so, how did you advocate for yourself and with your team? I also want to do delayed chord clamping and skin-to-skin as circumstances will allow.

I was scheduled c section do to breech and went into labor everything went fine. Idk if delayed cord clamping is possible with c section because they have to close you up quickly!!! Skin to skin absolutely happens when you go to recovery

I would YouTube how to naturally rotate baby. There are different positions you can try.

My friend did some weird stretches and was able to get the baby to move. It's worth a shot to avoid a c-section. Maybe YouTube it.

I believe the issue is you can't always predict how fast your labor will go, and if you labor quickly it puts you at risk for hemorrhaging which can be quite dangerous. I've had several friends who had c sections and their babies are just as healthy as my vaginal birth baby, so if it were me I would say the potential safety risk is too big for the potential benefit of laboring. The best thing you can do to boost baby's immune system early on is breastfeeding.
