Not what I expected.

Dallas

I'm just getting around to telling my birth story. This was my 2nd LO and he couldn't be anymore perfect. Elijah Alexander born 6.14.16 6lbs7oz

My first pregnancy was amazing I had little leakage from my water so I was immediately put on antibiotics around 12 . By 8 my water completely broke on its own and by 11 I already had my little partner in crime by my side.

My 2nd pregnancy on the other hand was bad. I had morning sickness all day everyday until about 6 months in. By my 7th month I started getting Braxton hicks contractions. The following month I had to go in and get a shot of terbutaline to stop them. After that visit i went in about 3 more times due to thinking I was in labor. The last time I went in on a Monday my contractions we irregular but I was only 2cm dilated so they sent my home. I was in and out of sleep that. Night and by 9am they started coming more intense. By 1030 they were really irregular (5, 2 , 7, 3,5 , 2,8, mins apart) so I thought nothing of it & jumped in the bath to try to relax. &what a mistake that was. By1130 I decided it was time to go in. So by the time I got in my mom's car they were 2 mins apart. And my hospital was about 40 mins away. As much as I tried not to push I knew it was time . We didn't make it to the hospital my water broke at 1145. My mom had to pull over at the fire department and I delivered my beautiful baby boy at 12p with the help of the firemen.

When we got to the hospital they immediately checked out my son. And between the fast birth with him having high amounts of protein in his blood, and him being born outside of the hospital they decided to keep my LO in NICU for a week on antibiotics. And that was the worst week of my life. ,,

With having my oldest at home and my husband working we could only manage to go out and visit him for a couple hours a day. Just seeing my son hooked to all those machines made my heart ache. I knew he was perfectly fine but just not having him home with us killed me.
