Not quite sure what to think

My husband and I have been TTC going on 4 months without any luck. I was due to get AF on 8/4 but woke up on the 1'st with a weird discharge and brown spotting. For the past week I have had a lot of cramping as well as being extremely tired and nauseous. I took a test on 7/31 and it was negative. I am not sure what to think of it. I am still feeling nauseous and tired. Any ideas as to what could be happening?
