Reflux
After a week of wondering why nursing got harder...why she didn't want to eat, but acted like she was starving, wasn't gaining weight like before.....
I'm pretty sure my poor girl has reflux. I'm not sure why. She's always been pretty gassy, but between gas drops and gripe water, things seemed to be getting better. I've been trying to make sure she gets plenty of hindmilk, and to reduce the flow because I was letting down too hard, lots of burping...and I'm running out of ideas. I feel so bad for her, because she's uncomfortable, and it must be my fault because I make what she eats. I think my only option left is to start eliminating dairy from my diet and see if she improves.
If your baby had reflux, what helped? Does it go away on its own? Is there something I can supplement with to make my milk more....basic, so it will help reduce the effect of the stomach acid on her esophagus?
