How soon did your doctor order the first blood work?

I recently got my BFP 🎉 and called my OBGYN to setup an appointment. They said that they see pregnant women after 7-9 weeks since start of last AF 🤔 I'm wondering if this is fairly standard or not. I've noticed a lot of posts on Glow about early blood work with HCG levels, etc, and I want to make sure I'm not missing something. Thanks everyone!

I had my levels checked due to a previous miscarriage. I won't get a prenatal appointment until I'm almost 10 weeks. With my other pregnancies, I just waited until my first prenatal.

If it weren't for a hospital visit at 5 weeks, I wouldn't have had any blood work done until we had the genetics test at 10 weeks. If we wouldn't have had that done, we wouldn't have had any blood work done until the GD test. 🙆🏻

My first appointment was almost 10 weeks and they didn't do blood tests until my second appointment.

I had my first blood work done when I was around 12 weeks. I had an ultra sound at 8 weeks to confirm the pregnancy.

My ob said this. So I called my pcp and they are the ones that sent me for blood work. Worse case you can tell your pcp that your ob requires proof of pregnancy hence the blood work.

I went in and was seen they confirmed my pregnancy and gave me my vitamins. Then they scheduled my appointment for a ultrasound around 8 weeks. They said before that you can't see very much.

Where I live your first appointment is at 10 weeks.

Normally they schedule you after 7-8 weeks.  Too many chemical pregnancys and if you get an ultrasound too early they won't see anything.  I was seen as soon as I got my positive,  but only because instead of a lmp I had a mc the month before.  Doctors prefer to wait until 8 weeks or so.

That is completely normal. They will usually do a pregnancy blood work panel at the first visit that tests for a lot of things
