Broke college kid

I posted this in another group but this fits better in this group. So, everyone around me, friends and acquaintences seem to be getting new cars and doing really well and expressing how well they've managed to save up while I'm over here living paycheck to paycheck. My savings and checking account look terrible and if I need clothes, I usually have to use my credit card. I know some things I don't need right away but most of the time, the things I buy are necessary. And ever time I save something, something comes up that I have to use my savings for. I feel like a failure because I'm 19 with no savings yet. I've been trying but it's hard. I didn't want to be a broke college student. Hoping I'm not alone /:
