MOVING TO FLORIDA!???

Question

Hi ladies!!! My husband and I are thinking about moving to FL. We have friends down there love it when we visit (Orlando/Tampa areas). We're pretty open to any area, just looking for somewhere safe, fun and affordable. Any adive? suggestions?
Of you moved to FL I'd love to hear from you! 
Why'd you move? What city did you move to? What was is like finding a home/apartment and jobs? Etc.

I live in Sarasota which is 90 minutes south of Tampa. As for your other questions...I can't remember. It's been nearly 6 years lol

My hubby is from Tampa, born and raised. He said as a child he loved how there were so many things to do. As an adult parents, he likes that Tampa offers so much more for families compared to our current home in Houston.

I lived in sfla most of my life and will likely move to Tampa area in next few years.  No state income tax. Year round pool weather. Lots to do, definitely not the state if you need seasons (turns out I hate seasons so I'm happy to go back)  . Much prefer tampa over orlando.

I moved to Clearwater which is about 30-45 mins from Tampa. I'm originally from Georgia and moved here because I wanted to explore living somewhere else. Me and my fiancé have only been here about 6 months and so far I'm not feeling it. The area is ok, the only thing I like about being here are the beaches. Most of the people lack hospitality. The traffic at certain times is horrible. The cost of living is too expensive for the housing. This is just my opinion.

We've visited Navarre a couple times and absolutely LOVE it there. It's in the panhandle near Pensacola, and a fairly short drive to Destin. It has a small town feel, beautiful beaches, and decent cost of living. My husband wants to move there, but I can't bring myself to leave our family.

Hi Kira! We moved to Hollywood, Fl, 4 months ago and loving it! We moved because of my husbands job, his office is in Miami beach, so I was looking for an affordable nice place within a reaosnable distance, and we settled on Hollywood. Found an amazing townhouse in a community ( all rental), nice neighbors. Love that the beach is 10 min drive away, and there are beautiful parks and nature in Florida! Unfortunately don't know much about Tampe but heard it's beautiful!

P.s. I found out townhomes online  and my husband flew in for a day to look at it ( ha dither be wings scheduled but canceled after he saw that townhouse).

I live near Tampa and it's actually pretty great. Only about an hour away from Orlando  (disney, themeparks, seaworld, etc) and also the beaches are an hour away in the other direction. I pay less than  $700 a month for my mortgage and it's a  3/2/1. Overall it's pretty great down here except for having no fall season 🍁

I've lived in FL for 9 years and can't wait to get out. I can't stand the West Palm/Ft.Lauderdale area..but don't know about Tampa/Orlando. One thing I do know is I would never bring up kids here. The school systems are horrible..and I find the general population to be rude, on edge, and totally self centered. I don't mean to be a downer, just want to offer a different perspective from my experience. Sunny vacation land isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I live in Jupiter. I love my job, but that's about it. It's expensive, I agree with another poster about the school system. We want to get out before our little one starts school, we just don't know where to yet.
