Help please confused!!

Okay, so I am sexually active but I have an irregular period. I have been have some spotting lately, it like when I wipe theres just a little blood. Should I be worried or is it just a sign my period is coming ( aka I do use condoms when having intercourse and my boyfriend does not sperm inside me)
