Itchiness after sex

So occasionally after I have sex with my boyfriend (always with a condom, we've never gone without, he's the only person I've been with too) I'm left feeling quite itchy (vagina & clit area). I think there's quite an overwhelming smell as well, sometimes my discharge is quite think, but not always. Could this be a yeast infection? I do have a doctors appointment tomorrow but it's a male doctor so I wouldn't feel comfortable discussing this or showing him. Thanks for any help you can give me.
