Should I just give up breastfeeding?

I'm very sad bc I don't want to give it up but every time I have pumped I can only get 0.5oz out of each breast and that's not enough for my lo when he drink 8oz ... I've tired the fenugreek pill and they're not helping. Idk if I should give up or not my lo is only 3 months and I really don't want to .. 😞😞

UPDATE: I don't want to hear that my baby each to much ! He's a happy & healthy baby. He eat 8oz every 5 hours and his doctor said that that was fine. I am not over feeding him.

That's really a lot of milk for a 12week old baby... If you're nursing though, pumping.5oz-1.5oz is a normal output. Anything more is typically the verge of oversupply. If there's no real specific reason for pumping, I would just stick baby back to breast and let them nurse for as long and as often as they want. Babies are much more efficient at getting milk our than a pump. Also, keep in mind, what you pump is in no way shape or form a good indicator of how much milk you produce. So don't look at that .5oz and get discouraged thinking that's all you make.

If you need to pump, try power pumping to boost supply (20mins on, 10mins off, 10mins on, 10mins off, 10 mins on then stop). Also, not everyone responds well to fenugreek. For some, it even reduces supply.

How much water are you drinking? It's really important to stay hydrated. I try to drink half my body weight in oz. So for me, that's 60oz a day. Also, if you scroll the board, I made a post about Brewers yeast. That may also help. However, before trying any of this, try bringing baby to breast as often as baby will allow. It's all about supply and demand. If baby demands it, your body will supply it.

I never get much out when I pump, but I've been able to breastfeed all of my babies. Babies are much better at getting milk out. If check with a lactation consultant if you're worries, but über your baby is just fine.

Breastfeed one side while you pump the other if you can. Warm massages in the shower, drinking TONS of water, eating oatmeal and other foods that help to produce. Some women really do just have a low supply but try that stuff first. Also how much you pump does not equal how much your baby is actually expressing when he eats. I know my body has an over supply but when I try to hand express or use a manual pump I can't get much milk out. Electric pumps work the best for me. So maybe try a new pump if you can?

A good friend of my moms said that if you put raw cabbage leafs on your breasts everyday, it helps produce more milk.

Your doing great, something to keep in mind is thar you will always pump less than what your baby eats bc the baby is much more efficient at getting milk, you may only pump a few oz but when he's nursing he's getting more. Plus I wonder when your pumping, if I pump right after I feed my baby I get significantly less milk than if I pump 35/40mims post feed.

Babies CAN over eat with a bottle but not with breastfeeding, my 1 month old eats a lot too and people tell me it's to mulch but like you, I checked with the dr and he said he is not overeating and he's health lyrics feed on demand so if he just at 3oz but is still hungry he will eat again.

If your only pumping and not nursing I would just want you to keep in mind that the baby teaches your breasts how muvh to produce, if you are not putting him to your breasts you body doesn't know how much you need to make and won't make the increases as they grow so you may want to tart doing that if you currently are not.

Additionaly you can make lactation cookies, i buy the brewers yeast on amazon and get the steal cut oats at a local grocery  store.  This is only of your trying g to help build your supply still.

Don't give up mama!! I went from supplementing with formula back to 100% breastfeeding and it took 2.5 months. Fenugreek didn't work for me it actually seemed to decrease my supply...what worked great for me was fennel seeds!! Also, are you still taking a prenatal? I stopped and when I got back on them it helped! I take the vitamin from target called "smarty pants" it's a gummy and has very high quality vitamins in it. I started eating and drinking more too!! This has helped the most by far!! Whenever I think about food I eat at least a snack. Always have bananas and peanut butter on hand that's my go to! As well as a green smoothie at least 3 times a week!

Momma your doing your best so that's what's important. I know someone who produces only 6 ounces a day and pumps every 2 hours and that's with pumping 12 times a day totals up to 6 ounces! It totally sucks! Besides fenugreek there are a few things you could try .. Lactation cookies, mothers milk, I heard that you can do a power pump (watch an our long show and pump at every commercial) but if you want to switch to formula than you do what's best for you to feel like your not loosing your mind! Your baby is  beautiful and healthy and that's what's important!

Is he eating directly from you? Or are you just pumping? Make sure your drinking enough fluids. Try lactation cookies, Gatorade zero calories or propel. Having a good diet is helpful too.
