Pumping at work?

Can your employer limit you to one pumping break? 6.5 weeks pp and my company has a written "policy" that we can only use our one break for pumping or breastfeeding. Does this technically meet the new federal law, or can I ask for additional breaks? My shift is generally 9 hours with a 1 hour break.

Nope. Check for the laws in your state, most likely they aren't following federal law

Nope they can't limit you like that that can even pose a risk for your health if you become engorged get a blocked duct and then that leads to mastitis which can go septic and become very serious.
I would print out the equality law and take it in and say you'll need more breaks.

The fair labor standards act and a few other federal laws prevent this type of behaviour and not only that but state law in most states does too so the odds are in your favour.
