Baby Momma Drama

Okay. So I am in involved with this guy. He has a very troubled background and is currently trying to get things together. He recently got put out out his dad's house and was sleeping in his car. For about a week he was staying at his uncle's and then he was told he had to leave there as well. He had no where else to go but to his baby mom's house. He has told me before that she is crazy and caniving and does whatever to make him miserable. He says he's going to be getting his own place soon, my question is what should i do? I know there is a bond between those who parent a child, and theres always that type of deep love. Should i back off until he gets his own place or should i back off for good ?
