Soft Cups for Conceiving

...on the soft cups, when using them to conceive, are you supposed to use them after normal BD, or does the man make his 'deposit' into the soft cup and then we use it? (So sorry if this is too intrusive!?? Just wondering how these should be used - the you tube videos & instructions I've found are pretty vague.) thanks!
