Was it sexual assault?

At the time I had just gotten out of a relationship. The kid I was flirting with was kind of just a rebound. To shut off the pain for a minute I guess. I know that's fucked up. But he was a really sexual person, and I told him I was a virgin and I told him I didn't want to do anything at all. And he asked me if he could finger me and I said no. I told him I didn't want to do anything sexual at all. And one day we were sitting outside kissing and he slipped his hands into my shorts. And started trying to rub my clit. It wasn't enjoyable and I wanted him to like me so I didn't necessarily say no again. But I started to close my legs to force him to pull his hands out of my pants. I've been scared to tell anyone about this. But was is sexual assault? This may sound stupid.
