Metformin - opinions?

My doctor just prescribed metformin... Anyone taken it and it had success getting a BFP? And how long did it take?

I take 1500mg twice a day. I have been on the metformin for over a year. I am now on a concoction of other fertility meds along with the metformin. No BFP yet, but it did shorten my cycle. I am currently in my TWW!!! Maybe this is my month!

I've been taking 1000 mg twice a day for over 2 years and been ttc for 7 months and still no luck! :(

I had no luck with metformin.  Started taking it Feb 2013 and never helped me get a cycle.  I'm now trying clomid but still taking the metformin.  I think my dose is 500 twice a day.
