No Show Aunt Flo

I was supposed to start yesterday, still no sign and I'm typically very regular. Took a test, it was negative, but I'm wondering if the fact that I'm on a 23 day cycle would cause a false negative...? Anyone else on a shorter cycle? When would you retest?
