Episiotomy - Stitches

I had an emergency forceps delivery and had an episiotomy which i ended up tearing up sides also. I thought my stitches had completely gone by week 3 . I have been feeling very itchy and irratated down there lately so i had a look in the mirror and i saw something very small and white i tried to remove it from the side of my vagina but it's attached. Also the skin around that area is all ruffled is the only way i can describe it, it is not smooth conpared to the other side. It looks horrible. Surely this can't be a stitch there if they are dissolvable? I'm 6 weeks postpartum, have an appointment on thursday for my check up.
