39 weeks pregnant, can pumping stimulate contractions?

I read recently that pumping can bring on contractions. That it helps release oxytocin. Anyone ever try this before and have it successfully work?

You won't lose the colostrum baby needs from nipple stimulation. Once you birth the placenta that is when your body produces all of that colostrum for baby. You will not lose it by pumping for nipple stipulations

I personally have tried it with all 3 pregnancies and zero ugh. I am almost 39 weeks too and have tried pumping a few times and I don't even get BH lol

If bub is ready to come it may help. If not the oxytocin release may help thin and dilate your cervix ☺️ I'm still breastfeeding my toddler and have never noticed contractions while feeding xx

I know that its a part of nipple stimulation. They say if you pump whike pregnant, it can cause your uterus to contract and might go into labor.

If you haven't been breastfeeding during your pregnancy it can. I've tried a few times this week and it hasn't worked. It gives me BH contractions but nothing real, so it is true your body needs to be ready for labor unfortunately😕

Be careful bc it might also release colostrum (so?) which is the liquid gold milk babies need right after delivery
