529 Savings account?

Did anyone start one of these for their kids? Or even have one themselves for college? I want to start putting money away for my daughter and I'm not sure if I should do a regular savings account or a 529 since I obviously can't predict the future and know for sure she'll even want to go to college.

A 529 account can be used for vocational school as well.  I will be setting one up for my lo.

I set up a 529. If your baby does not go to college or vocational school it can be transferred or cashed out with a penalty. If your child does not use it because they get scholarships there is no penalty.
