Want a sex change but want a baby?

Ok so i am transitioning from woman to man but my girlfriend wants a baby. She cannot have children and wants me to carry the child. I had planned to have reassignment surgery in march and now do not know what to do?! I have been on hormone therapy for a month but am still ovulating and having a cycle. Any advice??

I really think if you want children you should hold of on the surgery and carry a baby for her... it's probably the last chance you two will get to have a genetic relationship with a child.. so if you think that you are ready for the step I would take it.. you can always have the opportunity to have the reassignment surgery but if you have the surgery there will be no going back to giving your SO a baby. GL to you :)

Maybe use one of your eggs but another woman carries it for you so you can have your surgery?

I've followed a couple of blogs on tumblr by men who gave birth to their children. I can probably find some for you if you want to ask them questions.

And please feel free to remake this topic in my LGBTQIA group. It's a lot safer there. Transphobic trash isn't allowed there, and I know there are some women who have trans partners who may be able to talk to you too.

If you identify male and your partner is asking this of you, how does it make you feel? Are you truly ready to commit to the transition if you are wanting to give birth?

I have a few transgender friends, and I'm not sure if we would ever have a conversation like this.

I guess question is, what do you want, and what how committed to your partner are you, and how committed to the change are you?
