Cooked sushi? 🐟

Some girls at work have invited me to go eat sushi with them for lunch, and I accepted. Problem is, I haven't announced that I'm pregnant. Cooked sushi rolls are alright, right? When a sushi menu says tempura style, does that mean it has been cooked?  Thanks gals!

This is a myth for the most part! Sushi is actually ok and can be a very healthy pregnancy food! 
Yes, cooked options like crab, tempura, or unagi are super safe. But, salmon is also safe. Mackerel/swordfish are not recommended because of their heavy metal content. And tuna in lower amounts (meaning like not everyday). Also, the source is important. I probably wouldn't eat sushi from a street cart, but most clean, reputable restaurants are perfectly fine. 
Also, fish containing fatty omega3 are supposed to be great for your baby's future eyesight! 
Go for it and don't stress!

If you're worried and opting for the cooked rolls, you could always call ahead and let them know so they can take extra good care of how they're preparing your food?

Yes tempura is cooked. You can have any prawn sushi also, as it is cooked :)

I personally never eat raw sushi I always get a Cajun roll fried or any roll fried that way it's cooked all the way through. Good luck.

As long as you trust the source, I say go for it! I had cooked sushi around 7 weeks and I got spicy cali roll, shrimp tempura, and spring rolls. I was STUFFED. Sadly I won't be eating my spicy tuna and raw speciality rolls. I always play it safe lol, but supposedly if you trust the restaurant you can have it raw! Just something I read on the Internet, don't quote me ☺️

I had vegetarian rolls the other day and I spoke with the waitress and ask to make sure they don't cross contaminate with the raw fish. They assured me they wouldn't and I felt very safe eating the veggi rolls!

Yes, as long as isn't raw sushi and it's made fresh it's fine to eat. So tempura is ok since that means it's fried. 
I've eaten tons California rolls while being pregnant and I'm fine.
