If your baby to be was going to be born disabled?

They told me my first born daughter had downs syndrome had an amniocentesis and they still insisted she was. I was monitored my whole pregnancy she was born 1 month preemie and she don't have down syndrome. They asked if I wanted an abortion.. Could u imagine if I said yes.. Look at my baby now

To be quite honest, it would depend on the disability. Lots of things are classified as a disability but they are not life threatening. Also I would have to talk to specialist and research the disability and get a better understanding of what would be expected. Then evaluate it all and then decide. I'm totally curious of what this disability is???

It definitely depended. It's not just the fact that you're life may become harder, but the quality of life for the child could be poor. So depdending on the disability, our financial stability (medical expenses will be high), finding someone comfortable to care for the child while you're at work/date nights... It's a lot to think about. I hope you get through it! ❤️

Me and my SO just talked about this. 
If my son was to be born with no arms AND no legs.. We wouldn't keep him. 😔 He literally wouldn't be able to live life. Someone will ALWAYS have to be there for him. 
There's arguments that we could get him prosthetics but not everyone takes to them. They don't work for everyone. And it still wouldn't be life. Plus the money for the prosthetics.. Boy 😔

But autism or Down syndrome.. Anything that he could still have a "normal" (I know it's not completely normal but they wouldn't have to have someone wipe their butts or feed them or bathe them) life, we would most definitely keep 💙

It's a really hard question, I found out I was pregnant at 17 and my baby had a 99.8% chance of being disabled so and we decided together that it would be best to not have the baby, I still think about it now and I agree with our decision I don't think we would of been able to give them the life they needed at such a young age. But if you and your partner feel like you can give them the best life possible when it will be really hard some days and a lot of hospital trips and treatment then go for it. It's really something you need to sit down and talk about with your partner and your doctor. Do what your heart tells you too, best of luck either way ❤️

I had a friend who was told her baby was going to be very disabled and probably wouldn't live but she gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby

My husband's sisters both have brain malformations; Arnold Chiarii for one and Dandy Walker Syndrome for the other. Both have genetic implications. One is completely "normal" except she has migraines, which my family gets heridtarily anyway. The other has many handicaps; physical and mental. We got extra scans for both of our pregnancies so we knew what we may be facing. But unless the child was impaired so severely they would not survive outside the womb we never thought about aborting.
I feel like no one really knows until their faced with the decision; when they can weigh the severity and implications per pregnancy. Luckily for us all of our scans all showed that our babies were/are growing healthy; brain and body.
