Dermoplast. Call your hospital and see if the provide it, if they don't get on Amazon and buy some. It's amazing. It'll numb you down there.

Witch hazel tucks. They help you heal.

I used depends while I was in the hospital. And they were amazing.

The Peri bottle that they give you at the hospital.

I would also lay in the bottom of the tub with a leg on each side and turn the water on really warm and let it spray me down there. It relieved a lot of pain.

And ibuprofen.

I made those frozen pads and I didn't use a single one of them.

Witch hazel. Honestly my vag felt fine almost immediately after (I did not tear though). My butt? Different story 😂 hemorrhoids for weeks. Witzh hazel was a life saver!

Girl depends are awesome. They are so comfortable. Also, since they are made to be worn all day everyday by women with incontinence, they don't have as many chemicals in them like period pads do, good for sensitive skin. I was sad when I ran out of them. Also there is a brand called Earth Mama Angel Baby and they make New Momma Bottom Spray, it's glorious. It's at target by the pads. Also, target brand has Witch Hazel Wipes that are like baby wipes but with witch hazel. I used them to wipe after going to potty and would lay a fresh one down on the crotch of my depends. They are the generic of the preparation H wipes. They're by the butt stuff ☺️👍🏼

A nurse actually showed me how to open the crotch part of a diaper and fill it with ice to use as an ice pack instead of using the cooling pads you have to shake and twist. Just lay the diaper in your underwear like you would a pad. It seemed silly and embarrassing but my goodness did it work!

I had a 3rd degree tear so there was a whole lot of pain. Dermoplast was a lifesaver, for sure. The hospital gave me a little bottle but buy one yourself anyway in case they don't give you any or if you run out. The Earth Mama Angel Baby stuff is really good too. It didn't seem to last as long as the Dermoplast so I only used that later once the worst had healed. Very soothing!

Depends are awesome. If you have a bad tear, having a bulky pad or an ice diaper down there will feel awful. Use a cooling/numbing spray and Depends instead. Bonus: No leaks ever!

Last, I totally agree with having a hemorrhoid donut or pillow!! Bring one to the hospital, because if nothing else, you will need to ride in a wheelchair when you leave the hospital and it will hurt like hellfire if you don't have a cushion of some kind. Ask me how I know. 😣 I almost passed out from the pain. The only reason I hung on was because I was carrying my newborn!

Witch hazel pads (tucks or homemade) 🙌🏼 also for extra sore days the numbing spray in a can they gave me at the hospital! I also recommend buying thinner pads (still long tho), but you don't need to feel like ur wearing a diaper and if u are like me u will wanna change into a fresh one every time u pee anyway so u wouldn't be soaking thru them. Good luck!!
