How do you let your Newborns sleep?

Question

How do y'all let your newborns sleep?? Like do y'all swaddle them with a blanket and then put them down to sleep? 
My daughter is 2 weeks old, and she just got home from the NICU, and in the NICU they would swaddle them but my daughter gets feisty and wiggles a lot, and I've seen her break out of her swaddle. 
I'm just nervous that she's gonna unswaddle herself while we're asleep & get the blanket over her head :(( so I don't know how to let her sleep. 
I know not with me, or any extra blankets, pillows, or stuffed animals, etc.

We lost our first born to sids, so you can imagine it's going to be hard for me to sleep at night regardless, but help me put my mind at ease please! Any suggestions, or comments?

Maybe if you swaddle her tightly. Or put her in something warm with long sleeves on her back while sleeping. I'm sorry to hear about your first born.

My 8 day old baby girl hates being swaddled because she likes to wiggle and stretch. She most often sleeps on her belly with her daddy and then on her back or side with me after she wakes for a feeding in the night. We keep a little heater in our room so it's a comfortable temperature and she usually only has a onesie and socks and maybe a beanie if she still feels cold but our combined body heat keeps her pretty toasty

When she sleeps in her bassinet, we put LO in one of the Velcro swaddle blankets. She always broke out of a regular swaddle but does better with the Velcro (though she still manages to get a hand out now and then so she can suck on her first).

We used sleep gowns. Our LO moves around a lot, he likes his hands free and constantly kicks his legs until he falls asleep. So this way he can wiggle around and stay warm at night

I bought the angel monitor to ease my mind about sids. I also only use the Velcro swaddle or you can order something called a zippidy zip. It's supposed to make the baby feel like it's still in the womb.

My baby did break the blanket swaddle and some how rolled over and had the blanket covering his face! Luckily I checked on him. I now only use the Velcro swaddles and he can't break those. I still don't sleep though. I listen for his breathing and check him multiple times. Hopefully sleeping gets easier as time goes by.

I haven't had my baby yet, but a nurse told me that if the baby wiggles out of the swaddle to just put her in warm clothing.

I'm so sorry for your loss and congratulations on your baby being home from the NICU! My daughter was the same as yours, and she'd actually roll over in her sleep from moving so much. She would break out of a swaddle and she even got her arm trapped in the halo swaddlers, her limb turned blue before I noticed. I ended up having to bed share with her in order to any of us to get some rest. There are precautions you can take to make it safer. Good luck!!
