Trusting again after cheating?

How do you trust someone again after they have cheated and you are trying your best because you want your marriage to work

It is very very very hard! But you have to get in your mind that if you want this to work and you still want to be with this person than you have to learn to let those walls down. Trust me it wasn't easy. It took many going through phones, Calling every sec when he left and it got to the point where I sat myself down and was like if you want to still be with this person than you (I ) would need to stop stressing myself and start trusting this person again. It really takes time but if you really want this marriage to work than you have to start those baby steps. I'm so sorry this has happened to you though. I don't think no one should experience the pain of being cheated on. We don't deserve that at all! Good luck with everything 💕 I really hope it all works out!

Him (or her, because I've cheated On a past girlfriend, not proud of it) needs to really want it to work. And he really needs to feel remorse. And the reason I cheated, not saying it was excusable bc it never is, was because I was not happy in my relationship. So I think it's important to identify why he cheated. How long. Who it was with. And maybe the degree of the cheating. Etc kissing all the way to sex. It takes time. I m not with my girlfriend anymore and I still have not forgiven myself. I'm in a new relationship and I still cry about it. People work through cheating. It is possible. Two of my closest friends worked through it (two couples).  You just both have to want it. It does get easier. The guilt ate me inside out  for a very very very long time. And my girlfriend at the time helped me through that reassuring. Me that she still loved me and wanted to work through it, while assuring me
I wasn't the worst person in the world. It's going to take both of you supporting each other. It will be worth it and It deffinintily puts your relationship to the rest. Maybe counseling would help. But maybe people work through it without counseling just with really good communication and genuine feelings whether that be feeling of remorse, understanding, guilt, betrayal, etc. it takes time. And if your husband truly regrets it and feels remorse, it will get better for both of you. "Once a cheater always a cheater" is NOT true. Maybe you don't notice a change each day. But you'll look back one day and you'll see how much progress you've both (or just. You ) have Made. Things do return to normal. But I would say what determines the most if it can be worked through is identifying why he cheated and if he is remorseful.

i am the type of person that if you betray my trust, you will have to do a hell a lot of things to make me believe i can trust you again. and thats only because so many people have betrayed my trust too many times... so thats just me.
